The Cities in Argentina are well known for their culture and customs. It is never a surprise to see large groups of people socializing and celebrating through all hours of the night. The cheerful ambiance is unstoppable as they greet every moment with a lively radiance.

Holidays are a large happening in Argentina, as is the many festivals and celebrations you find daily or weekly. Argentineans bask in a happy glow over what other regions find to be mundane. They take the  everyday ordinary and make it extraordinary with their penchant for a festive approach to life.  Aside from the International observances and holidays, Argentina has an entire holiday card lineup. The Celebratory occasions are broken up into a few categories that are simple to remember and should be marked on the calendar:

  • International
  • Regional
  • Religious
  • Political
  • Remembrance

There is an approximate 150 days that are marked and slated as an occasion to celebrate. Family members get their own special day from Grandparents and children to Aunts, Uncles, Siblings and Godparents. Some of the Holidays are noted as Non- work days. These are the times that employees take the day (and sometimes the next day too) to celebrate.

Argentina’s culture holds a profound belief in Familia. Most if not all commemorative occasions will include everyone. Not just the household members, invitations are open for all of the extended family as well. One of the main things you will see at every celebration is a feast of foods. For perspective, take the average Thanksgiving dinner and quadruple the amounts. The delectable fares are highlighted with a surrounding of vibrant and cheerful colors. Music, dancing and laughing into the night is not a common practice…. it is expected!  Honoring the day is standard in one or more celebrative ways.

  • Festivals
  • Carnivals
  • Parades
  • Gatherings in Town
  • Family Homes

The towns and cities will applaude the day with large and festive gatherings. Festivals and carnivals will host a myriad of experiences, food and friendships.
